OPERATIONal TEAMS

  • About: The vision is for a relaxed space where delegates can grab a drink, pull up a deck chair and be encouraged by word and worship from both outside and within the New Wine community!  The Bandstand will provide a space for charity partners to share more about the work of their organisations. It will also be a place for the New Wine family to share whether this be through an acoustic set, some pre-celebration worship or through testimony.

    We are looking for some friendly volunteers with some PA experience to join the Bandstand Team at New Wine Festival. You will be part of a small team to daily welcome musicians, artists and partners to the Bandstand and help them get setup. There will also be a simple sound system to operate.

    14:00 - 14:30: ‘Take a Stand’ Charity Partner Slot

    14:30 - 15:00: ‘Take a Stand’ Charity Partner Slot

    About: Are you good with numbers or have an interest in financial administration? This role involves supporting the New Wine Finance team in managing and recording the cash floats and takings from the cafés. You will also support with the offering and general finance administration. As a team, you will always start your day with a short time of morning prayer.

    The team is split into two sub-teams, the gate team and the office team. The day gate opens at 7am and this sub-team will work on shifts through the event. The office team will be based in the finance office, working more typical office hours.

    About: You will be joining with the staff team to be the face of New Wine to thousands of people throughout the festival. The Info point will be open daily between 8am - 6pm and the team will work in shifts throughout this time. We’re looking for friendly, energetic team members who can:

    • Demonstrate strong communication skills when liaising with delegates and other team members.

    • Understand the need to make the festival a welcoming experience for delegates.

    • Be polite under pressure and good at on-the-spot problem-solving.

    • Answer a wide variety of queries about the site and the festival’s programme.

    About: We want to find, nurture and support creatives at New Wine and with so much going on around the site every summer, we need multiple individuals to help us capture it all. With a vision to inspire others to join us and see what God is doing in the New Wine family, the media team will comprise presenters, photographers, and videographers with a mission to tell the story of New Wine through attractive, versatile, and shareable content.

    Age: young team 16-17 years (limited spaces available), adult team 18+

    You will need:

    ·       A heart to serve.

    ·       Fun loving

    ·       Experience in content capture

    ·       Your own camera and equipment (details of specific equipment requirements available on request).

    • Be able to be part of a team and be ready for anything.

    Hours: The media team is scheduled to cover all elements of each day on a rota.  The schedule allows for attendance at some, but not all, main meetings and seminars

    About: We welcome Doctors, First Aiders, HCAs, Nurse Practitioners and Nurses and Ambulance personnel* to join us as we work together alongside contractors, MK Medical, in a supportive multi-disciplinary team. We provide 24/7 medical care which is of a high standard delivered in a way which is compassionate and holistic. We see patients with a wide spectrum of clinical presentations, and welcome healthcare professionals from a range of clinical backgrounds and specialties. If you are a receptionist or medical administrator we’d love to have you on board too!

    We know that doing the ‘day job’ on holiday is a big ask, so we welcome PT as well as FT applicants.

    Please provide us with a brief overview of your current role and/or relevant past experience, NMC/GMC/HCPC numbers and copies of any relevant certificates.

    Experience required:

    • Doctors will need a minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience.

    • Nurses need an active current registration with the UK NMC; minimum qualification RN level 1.

    • First Aiders need to provide details of a Community First Responders, St John’s or British Red Cross certificate, including expiry dates. Please note that applicants who don’t undertake regular duties with St John’s or the Red Cross may be considered on submission of details about either first aid or life experience.

    * We welcome applications from Ambulance personnel, however, please note that this will be a Medical Centre based role and all emergency calls/ambulance dispatching will be overseen by the MK Medical paramedics.

  • About: New Wine FM is the on-site radio station for the summer gathering. We usually transmit live for around 16 hours a day, providing programming including interviews, Christian music and the live relay of seminars and main meetings. We need presenters and engineers to join our friendly and welcoming team. Previous experience isn’t essential – we’ll train you, and you’ll be serving with experienced team members.

    Age: 18+

    The sub-teams of Radio are:

    • Presenters- the “voice” of New Wine FM. We present and compile radio shows, conduct live and recorded interviews, and provide on-site information and updates for delegates.

    • Engineers- from building our radio facilities, overseeing the live links from meetings and seminars, and getting and keeping us on air!

    You will need:

    • A heart to serve.

    • Be a team player.

    • Previous experience isn’t essential – we’ll train you, and you’ll be serving with experienced team members.

    • The one other commitment we ask is attendance at our Team Day, usually held towards the end of June. This day is an opportunity to meet the team, receive essential training and eat cake!

    Hours: The radio team is scheduled to cover all elements of each day on a rotaThe schedule allows for attendance at some, but not all, main meetings and seminars.

  • You will be supporting the New Wine Partnerships Team in building and growing partner and exhibitor relationships, positively representing New Wine in each interaction. You will work closely with the Partnership Support Team Leaders to facilitate a beneficial experience for partners and exhibitors attending New Wine Festival.

    Arrivals and Departures:

    In this role you will need to arrive the day before team arrival day so on team arrival day you are ready to welcome and assist with partner and exhibitor registration. You will also need to be fully available until approx. 12pm on delegate departure day to help with with partner and exhibitor pack down to ensure a smooth transition from site.

    Responsibilities:

     To provide a friendly and warm welcome to exhibitors and partners, ensuring they have everything they need and know where to setup their stall.

    To practically support partners and exhibitors with tasks such as setting up furniture, finding tools or providing duct tape through the event but particularly on the busier arrival and departure days.

    To regularly check-in with partners and exhibitors located in various areas across the site.

    Hours:

     4-6 hours a day

    Key days are team arrival day and delegate departure day where hours may be sightly longer

    About: We are seeking volunteers with experience in safeguarding to join our Safeguarding team at the New Wine Summer gathering.     • Experience in working in a safeguarding context.

    Hours: The safeguarding team is scheduled to cover all elements of each day and night (on call) on a rotaThe schedule allows for attendance at some, but not all, main meetings, and seminars.

  • About: Be part of one of the most hands-on teams on site! As part of the Site Crew team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that the site’s infrastructure operates efficiently and without any glitches. This role entails general maintenance skills, with plumbing and electrical abilities being an added advantage. Your expertise in fixing a blocked shower will be highly appreciated!

    Age: 18+

    Hours: The Site Crew team works 8:30 am-6 pm each day, and usually on 6-hour shifts.

     About: Our Stewards are crucial in ensuring the event runs smoothly and is a safe and secure place for everyone. The team directs and coordinates delegates, volunteers, contractors and suppliers around the site, so we are looking for people who are confident, reliable, decisive, calm under pressure and able to do all this with a smile!

    The sub-teams of Stewarding are:

    • Stewarding – General (Day) Team

      • About: This team covers most of the site (including some seminar venues) and involves ensuring safety and assisting in any way to help things run smoothly. Stewards need to be polite, friendly and outgoing, good at communicating clearly, calm under pressure and able to be assertive if necessary.

      • Age: 17+

      • Hours: You will be allocated to a team of Stewards; each team rotates across various shift times, covering a range of different duties. This system gives everyone variety, as well as ensuring that duties are fairly distributed. You will find out your shift team and times before the event starts. Each shift is around 8 hours, with breaks.

      • You will need:

        • A heart to serve.

        • Be a team player.

        • Previous experience isn’t essential – we’ll train you, and you’ll be serving with experienced team members.

        • You will spend much of your time standing/walking outside, so warm clothing, waterproofs, sturdy footwear, and stamina are essential!

    A day in the life of a Steward  

    • Control

      • About: Control forms the central hub of communication for everything that happens on site, supporting delegates with any site issues and coordinating the functions of contractors and all other teams on site, ensuring the smooth running of the event. Unlike other stewarding teams, this team is based indoors.

      • Age: 18+

      • Hours: Approximately 8 hours per day on a rotating shift pattern between 8am and midnight; shift patterns will be available to team members before the event.

      • You will need:

        • A heart to serve.

        • Be a team player.

        • Previous experience isn’t essential – we’ll train you, and you’ll be serving with experienced team members.

        • Be empathetic, smiley, and full of Grace.

        • Have clear and calm communication skills.

        • Be good at keeping records.

    A day in the life of the Control team

    • Stewarding- Night Team

      • About: This section of our team ensures the safety of the site, venues and delegates throughout the night. You will spend most of your time outside walking the site; duties include overseeing the ‘Silent Hours’ (curfew). During the night, you will communicate regularly with Team members in Site Services, who will complete a Night Log. All under the watchful eyes of the Night Steward team leader.

      • Age: 18+

      • Hours: Midnight till 8am.

      • You will need:

    • A heart to serve.

    • Be a team player.

    • Experience serving as a ‘General Steward’ or ‘Night Steward’ previously is desirable.

    • Be empathetic, smiley, and full of Grace.

    • You will spend much of your time standing/walking outside, so warm clothing, waterproofs, sturdy footwear, and stamina are essential!

    A day in the life of a night steward

  •  About: Join the team that brings the action in the adult venues to the screens. The Venue Visuals team’s key areas of responsibility are to use the cameras in the venues to follow cues and capture the stage content under the supervision of the visuals team leader.

    Age: 18+

     You will need:

    • A heart to serve.

    • Experience serving in a church visuals or production team is desirable.

    • Previous experience isn’t essential – we’ll train you, and you’ll be serving with experienced team members. However, the ability to be technologically minded is essential.

    Hours: The Venue Camera Operator team is scheduled to cover all elements of the program across several venues on a rota.

  • About: Villages provide a ‘home’ for people throughout their time at New Wine. As a Village Host, you will welcome people to their camping village, give delegates an idea of what’s on and when, be available to answer questions about the site or programme and, if you’re able to, organise village activities such as a BBQ, so people can get to know each other. Village Hosts also help to plan the camping layout of the village before the event starts and address practical camping needs throughout the event.  All you need is a love for people and an endless supply of tea bags!

    Age: 18+

    You will need:

    • To be loving, friendly and welcoming. -to go the extra mile and bless others to make everyone on the village feel they belong

    • Able to make a good cup of tea or coffee.

    • Excellent choice in biscuits.

    • Planning skills and vision to plan your village.

      • The ability to be flexible at the last minute.

    • Basic camping experience and a willingness to help others.

    • Enthusiasm for group activities such as BBQs

    Hours: Village hosts often arrive on site the day before the event starts to give time to be set up, ready and welcoming for delegates the following morning.  On delegate arrivals day, the Village Host must be present in their village all day. During the week, the hours are flexible and varied depending on the needs of your village and any social events you might plan.

  • About: The Village Hall will serve as a central, community hub for each village colour, i.e. there will be one Village Hall per village colour. The Village Hall will be a small marquee which will include picnic tables, charging facilities and hot water stations. The role of Village Hall Host (VHH) will be to support the general running of the Village Hall, ensuring the space is kept tidy and safe for delegate use. 

    VHH will create a welcoming space for delegates, particularly those who may be on their own or visiting for the day. In collaboration with the other team members and your Team Leader, you will plan and host social events and meet-ups such as a welcome evening, ‘New Wine Newbies’ or a game/quiz night. 

    You oversee the daily hot water provision in the Village Hall during the allocated morning and afternoon slots. You will be the first point of call in the village for delegate queries.

    We are looking to have either 2 x part-time and 1 x full time or 2 x full-time applicants per village hall – so why not apply with a friend!


    Full-time applicants must do both shifts per day, plus all social events and will get full catering provided for the week. Approx. hours 4-6 per day

    Part-time applicants must do one shift per day plus at least one social event and won’t get catering for the week. Approx. hours 2-3 per day

    Full-time team places are £35 and part-time tickets are half of a standard full-event ticket; £124.50. Please note you must arrive on Tuesday 29th July from 12pm.
